FAQs
Before you place an order, you might like to know a bit more about who we are and what we do...
Who is Elle's Bread Shed?
I'm Elle (or Eleanor), a busy mum of five, firefighter, chair of the parish council and certified ADHDer. I have been catering for large groups for 30+ years both domestically and professionally and have finally decided to turn my attention to selling my baked goods from home.
Are you qualified?
I am in so far as I've got plenty of years experience and have had several Food Hygiene certificates under my belt in a professional capacity. Currently refreshing my certification in it's current iteration as Food Safety Level 2.
Are you registered with the local council?
Yes! But I'm waiting on my rating. Coming soon hopefully!
Do you have insurance?
Absolutely. I have Public Liability of £5,000,000 and Product Liability of £5,000,000. You can see my certificate if you come to the Bread Shed.
Do you take requests?
Sure. Just drop me a message on the website, or send me an email [email protected]. You can also follow me on Facebook and Instagram and DM me there.
Do you cater for allergies?
I am mindful of cross contamination obviously and do not prepare products containing nuts whilst preparing other products. I can make nut free alternatives and also dairy free. However, at present I do not produce gluten free baked goods. It's just the nature of sourdough. Just ask if you have a specific request concerning allergies.
Do you deliver?
In short, no. Because of my job (my other job as an on call firefighter) I respond to shouts from home and as such I don't travel far during the day. It's also more costly for me to bring your order to you when I'm not already going out. It's better if you stop by when you're heading out - why not pre order and collect the next day on the way back from the school run?! Or impress your work colleagues with baked treats and pick up before work. Most days I'm open from 8am.
When are you open?
Usually 8am-7pm but occasionally it may be later depending on work commitments. If you need something first thing, I can get it ready for you to pick up without opening the Bread Shed and fully stocking it.
How can I pay?
Well cash is king obviously but I happily take card payments over the website or there's a QR code you can scan once you've added up the total of your purchases. Easy peasy! If you're bringing cash, its probably best to bring the correct money in case there's no change in the Shed.
Do you cater for events?
I can produce several loaves of bread or a few trays of cinnamon buns but Sourdough takes time to prove and ferment. I can't take large orders for next day collection - I simply won't have the starter for it but you can definitely ask me about catering for your event in advance.
Where can I find you?
The address is 5 The Drive, Perry, Huntingdon, Cambs PE28 0SX
